A Memorial Service was held at sea in Dorothy’s honor on Saturday November 12, 2005.

A Great Love
For Cindy and Cathy and all who loved Mom:

We have known a great love, mom’s love
It’s no wonder our loss hurts as it does
Our pain is real and not to be minimized
Still we dare not forget the truth of our grief
If we had not known mom’s love, our life would have been much the poorer
If we had not received the gift of her relationship
We’d be less then we’ve become
And Mom, who we love, would have been less without us, without our love
We have known happiness and it is embedded in us
Our lives have been enriched and nothing can take that away
And while the physical life mom shared with us has come to an end
The love between us has not and will not
The love between us can continue on finding new expressions
So let’s remember Mom and remember the love we shared
Remember also that we are loved….still
We always will be…..all of us

As we return to earth and sea from wence we came.

Divine creator of all in heaven and on earth, we bring before you these last earthly remains, returned to you, to do with as you will,

and set free for all eternity, and to remind us that forever they shall in the wind and the waves and on the earth in substance.

Even though the spirit is already with you, we ask that you receive these ashes of the one that you created that you might create from them life anew.

Dorothy’s ashes were released on Christmas morning 2005.
